Dryers are almost infinitely repairable. Most likely either the belt or the motor is gone, but they are easily repaired.

It sounds like the belt that drives the drum to spin is broken. Either that, or the motor that drives the belt is burned out.

You're reading When I turn my dryer on the panel lights up but the dryer does not spin. I can hear a humming noise but nothing. I can also smell an elctrical smell coming from the back. Does anyone have any suggestions?
