  • The ocean's salinity would drop significantly near the poles and sea level would rise quite significantly. The ocean's would warm to an even higher degree because ice reflects sunlight.
  • To add on to Scienceoverignorance. The reason that ice is at the poles is because it is much colder there than the equator. This would be true regardless of how hot it gets. This means, that if it was hot enough to melt all the ice at the poles, the earth would be EXTREMELY hot... so much so that a lot more water would be evaporating and cloud cover would increase greatly. From a distance, we would probably look like Venus. This is where equilibrium would set in again. Snow reflects the sun's energy, but so do clouds...
