Oxygen perfusion is critical for all cell processes including metabolism.
Human cells, like almost all living cells, require oxygen for metabolism.
The only living things that don't require oxygen are a few forms of bacteria.
Because originally our cells respire and needs O2 to do it and release ATP for our body to use it as an energy, mainly heat energy,and as the result of burning sugars inside our bodies CO2 is released.
If you know about the cellular respiration so O2 is the final acceptore to the electrons in the cell.;D
we are carbon based creatures. carbon needs oxygen to burn stuff. we need lots of gases, nitrogen too.
