How do you throw out an old garbage can ? I mean the men think it is still being used. So, how do you get rid of it?

Tape a big note on it that says "PLEASE TAKE THE CAN." I've never had that fail.

Put it in front of someone else's house.

Take it to the Tip if they will not remove it.

Put a big sign on it that says, "take this can" and they will. It's what I do and it works.

Put a sign on it for them to remove it also.

Put it in a garbage bag and leave it for the garbage collectors to take care of its disposal.

Smash it as flat as you can get it and lay it on top of another can.

I just met them when they came to pick up the trash early one morning and said, "Please, throw the can away, too. It's really old." Worked perfectly.

Wash it out and advertise it on a local Freecycle. Someones rubbish is someone elses treasure :)

Throw it over into your neighbours garden

If it's plastic, rip or saw it apart. If it's metal drop it off at a recyclers.

I'm glad you said the men think it is still being used. I thought, reading your question, you meant the old garbage can as your husband. I mean, you women don't think about the time when you admired us for our stature, manlinless and looks like a good stud. No, you look at us, grey headed, round shouldered, shrunken penis's(does that sound as though some of us have two of these)of which we have only one. We smile(the teeth slipping down is not our fault) when we can. All in all, I don't think you should consider getting rid of us, maybe we aren't much use these days but, have a little compassion, we were good once, I think.

Lady, we just have to get tough, and take no prisinors. Some shit just has no place in our enviorment, and it has to go. Take a stand, and take it out!

Put a label on it saying "throw away please its holding no trash in it" if the can is empty they should think its trash also

Paint it and sell it as art at garage sale. I met someone who did that with a large old metal wastebasket. It sold for $7.00 during the first hour of the sale. It's amazing the things people will buy. Simply amazing.
