Funny you ask(!) I rate all my songs so I can quickly distinquish the good songs from the bad songs that probably shouldn't even be on my iTunes. If you have time to listen to the song, you have time to rate them. :)

I tried to when I first got my I-pod, but it quickly became a time consuming & futile effort.

I won an iPod about 6 months or more ago and haven't loaded anything on it yet.

Never saw the point. I know what I like and erase the rest. A lot of my IPOD is taken up with audio books. I bought them so as far as I'm concerned they are all 4-star.
