The founder was Bill France,Sr.,and it was created in a hotel conference room in Daytona Beach,Florida by a group of 12 guys who wanted to make an organization where illegal moonshiners could race without the cops on their tail. NASCAR stands for the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing.
