Depends. If they are in the middle of a thought, probably not. However, if it was near a breaking point where you could say, "Hang on a minute while I tell this person calling that I'll call them back," then I would ask them to hold, but only long enough to provide that message and nothing more.

it depends on what they were upset about...if he's upset because i shrunk his briefs in the drier, that can wait...if it's because someone he loved died, i would not take another call.

NOPE! A phone call is simply a request to speak with you. Sometimes the answer is "no" and when it is, that is the time you don't answer :) Let your receptionist, (what's his name, Mister Voice Male?) take a message for you and get back at a better time in your schedule.
