  • Try MerchantCircle.com. Depending on where you are located this is a free networking website. You have the option of upgrading to a paid site at any time. I have the free registration for my business. You can link to other industries that are related to yours. I have a swimming pool company so I have linked to real estate agencies within my area. This was a low cost way to advertise and drum up new business. Another great place for ideas is IdeaCafe.Com. Registration is free and they always have unique low cost ideas to help promote and manage your business. Keep us posted and good luck to you and your business. I will be happy to help out if I can!!
  • The reason I suggested Merchantcircle wasn't due to the weblinks or doing business on the internet. I suggested it because it is a way for you to look up people who may need your services and for them to check out what you have to offer. The competition is overpriced for a reason. They probably have more overhead, employees or new equipment to pay for. I am sorry you feel that using the internet for finding customers is not in the "real" world. Do your research and find out the amount of people who go to the web instead of the newspaper. Instead of looking at what your competition does offer in services, look at what they do not offer. Then use that to work with. I have been a small business owner for 7 years now, and my family ran one for 55 years. You have utilized this site to research information on what you need, why would your customers not do the same?
