I will answer your questions in order: 1. Anything you want. Many people major in political science, so you may want to avoid this major if you want to stand out. Also, patent attorneys often have hire demand and to become one you need a hard science degree. So you may want to consider such a degree. 2. In today's market demand is low. If you live in a state like California or New York, then you will be entering into an over saturated market. 3. You don't have to, but it could only help. However, you will need to take math if you plan on pursuing a hard science degree.
