It depends on the size and quality of the pics. What's the average size of the pics in megabytes?

It depends entirely upon the image quality, higher resolution images will take up more room, and the file format, I believe .RAW files are larger, but I don't use .RAW, so can't qualify that statement!

I have a 10 megapixel Sony A-100 DSLR with a 2GB memory card. At 10MP it will hold about 600 pics. About 100 in RAW. About 1280 at 5MP. Hope this helps.
