Does thinking too deep through an unflinching desire for knowlege against the instincts and the ego sometimes cause failure to recognise some very basic truths?

I hope i'm right in assuming you're asking if over analyzing something will cause you to over look the obvious truth. and I would have to agree with you. Most of the time, everything is straight forward and right in your face and we're so used to things being in fine print and hidden by riddles and rhymes. We miss a lot of things because we're so afraid of failure and being unaware that we freak out and make assumptions. I hope thats what you meant.

I'm not entirely sure that it's possible to "think too deeply". And not sure that doing so facillitates the loss of things "basic". ;-)

I think it can do. Take a look at how many people on AB ask questions like "He said I have just been busy what does that mean?" do they not realise that they are over analyzing his comments and causing their own drama? Perhaps he means he has just been busy! I definitely think that thinking too deeply at times does mean you over look the truth.
