  • In my experience, weed is opposite of alcohol, the more you do, the more it builds up and you become "lightweight" to it. Meaning that you get higher quicker every time you do it.
  • I have many friends that smoke it and the ones that have been doing it the longest i think have to do more and they think that theyve built a tolerence to it cuz like a first-timer doesnt it take like 3 hits to get highbut a heavy user takes like 10.
  • Some anecdotal evidence directly from two of my 'chronic' friends that smoke on average 3-5 fat joints per day: the longer they smoke the more they need to get the same type of euphoric high. The body high tends to be about the same but the mental effects become increasingly hard to induce thus they smoke more and more. A side note: they also stated that a break of anywhere from 4 days to a month is great for 'clearing their systems'. So after a 4 day break they may need only 2+ joints for the same high, after a month one joint will put them on their backs. hope this helps.
  • Short answer no, long answer no with a but. While it's true that you don't really develop a tolerance for pot, the high does change over time. One's high will start to get muddy after, say, a week of smoking once daily, but if you give yourself a day off every couple of days this goes away. Only really heavy users really need to worry about this.
  • YES! or maybe you just get used to being stoned. I used to be able to smoke a fat blunt and still have a highly functionable day. not anymore. i had to quit for a long while and my tolerance is super low.
  • no, there is no tolerance what so ever to mj, only the fact that one gets used to being high so they can function properly. If one quits for a while their body doesn't remember how to function while high. But both users will be at the same level of being stoned.
  • this guy oviously dont smoke....I smoke everyday & have for 10 years, I dont even get high like I used to...Even hydro!!!!Wake N bake is the only remedy!!!!!
  • When I first started it took me all of about one cone/hit to get stoned, after awhile i started to smoke more and more,to the point where i smoke every day and hardly even get decently high any more, lately i have started to use a Bucket(Gravity) Bong and wash it down with vodka, this has helped the high become stronger and longer plus the added effects of the hootch, i also tend to chain smoke full flavor cigarettes, this usually make the high stronger but a whole heap quicker, i am also a vegitarian and have very little body fat, iv heard that vegitarians experence a very different high but ofcourse i cant compair them (if any at all). well thats my experences for you however i think that everyone has a different high and should experement.
  • Yes Definitly! I have smoked weed everyday for the last 2 years. I am an addict. I luv The shit haha. I used to get so ripped when i smoked a Joint. I would actually trip out on things and have laughing fits, now no matter how much i smoke i dont get high. I even hit the Lung and my bong and it still doesnt do me good. the most i get is a little bit of a mellow, chilled out feeling and sumtimes dizzyness. It just isnt the same! I guess ill just have 2 quit 4 awhile:(
  • The high changes. I found that if I change the type of cannabis I smoke, it is much harder to develop a tolerance as different strains contain different percentages of cannabinoids(i.e. THC and CBD) that react with each other. Some long time users have reported noticing effects better from lower amounts of cannabis. Usually after discontinuing use for a little while ones tolerance disappears.
  • I know there is some kind of tolerance or acceptance of the weed, I know this because I have smoked pot ALOT lately and i remember the first couple months I smoked. I would smoke a small chillum and be blazed for hours. Then I got a bowl and the first couple of days i got wasted, but then maybe 2 months later, smoking pretty much everyday, i now smoke 2 bowls and feel almost nothing. I know I am high but any traces of that feeling are gone in no more than an hour.
  • um ok so there was a study done on this it found that the more you use the less it does for you and no just using more doesnt help it just makes it worse check it out www.ukcia.org/research/gettman3.htm man i hate people that just post random shit or are uneducated users and really 2 to 5 joints a day that right there is what makes people think pots addictive excesive use also get a bong man joints are horrible for you
  • yeah it does over time and if you use more its a waste of 'smoko' and money ....now in the 40 or so years I have been 'smoking' I have found that if you cook with it (cookies, cakes, stews etc) and alternate this with smoking then its works out fine ....and the golden rule is you don't get anymore stoned after 3cones or 1 joint so don't bother trying ...again because its a waste :)
  • Technically no. Marijuana and LSD are the only drugs that you can't become physiologically dependent, and therefore you don't build up a tolerance for it. However you can be psychologically addicted to it, so that's why people THINK they do and use more of it and increase the times they use it. I know everyone's gonna downrate me and say this is a wrong answer, but I'm reading it straight out of one of my college textbooks, in a chapter on Psychoactive drugs.
  • I believe you dont build up a tollerence to weed itself, but to the type of weed your smoking. if you smoke the same shit over and over again it eventually wont get you high. ive been smoking steady now for 2 to 3 years and when i was smoking dirt it eventually didnt get me high at all anymore. spend some money and youll get high everytime no matter how much you smoke. people might not think they get as high after smoking multiple times in a day but damn there is nothing like that first high of the day. so savor that smoke and pick a good time to light up numero uno
  • Hellz yeah it does. For everyone who says it doesn't, next time try going with facts, or science, or personal experience. Just google weed tolerance...
  • Tolerance has nothing to do with physiological dependence. You will build up a tolerance to any drug that you use frequently, i.e. alcohol, adderall, antidepressents, but that does not mean you are physiologically addicted. To answer that question: YES, the body does build up quite a tolerance to marijuana, ask anyone who smokes herb daily. If you are an everyday toker, try quitting for just a week. You will be amazed at how much higher you will get the next time you toke.
  • yes you can build a tolerance to marijuwana trust me ive been smoing 5 years straight every day and in the past 3 months 1/2 pound of marijuwana and now my body has become extremly tolerant to the thc it stores in fat and once all your fat is full of it capacety of thc you become tolerent ive been looking into it the best way is to stop drinknig green tea and lots of water and in about a month you should be good to get wacked out of your mind good luck and have fun
  • fuck ya you can develop a tolerance, ive only been toking every day for about a year and ive already noticed a huge tolerance to weed. I remember almost every high and every sesh. The first time i hit pissers or buckets, i took like 2 fat tokes and i was fucked outta my mind. Now in the morning ill take 4-5 fatty's and i wont even be high at the end of my first class an hour later. (My average has gone up, no lie). Toking from a pipe is almost impossible for me to get high. I used to get so ripped off one bowl 4 months ago, now a pipe has little to no effect, with several bowls packed. The first time i hit a bong 6 months ago i hit like 3 perse bowls before seeing pineapple express and i was so ripped i cant even remember how many burgers i ate. Just the smorning i took aproximately 12 fat bong tokes and all were ghosted, i was again not even high an hour and a half later, it fucking sucks cause i have to use so much weed to get the same high i used to get off nothing. I hit 2 pisser tokes and i wasnt even high. To get so high that i actually burn out and have decent munchies, id need like 15 fat pisser tokes and ghost them all. then i would need like 3-4 bong bowls to myself then a joint or two. to get that ripped 6 months ago id need 2 bucket tokes, or like 1-2 bong bowls, not ghosting the tokes, after saying this all i have to reccomend is, unless you a rich mother fucker this sucks cause as a teenager you cannot possible afford 2 grams a day. So yes you can develop a tolerance to weed haha i wish you didnt. and to the person that said it seems like it gets easier to get high the more you do it, this is partly true. up to about your 15-20 good session, your body will accept the high faster and easier and you will get higher faster, i remember blazing with people right at the begging of my toking he took some bong tokes and a minute later said "ok, now im high" i however didnt feel high for like 10 minutes then it hit me, 2-3 months after this i would get high a lot faster like my friend. Now its to the point where it takes a long fuckin time to get a good high, let alone actually getting the munchies again
  • I have been smoking daily for about a year now and only a month ago i realized that i don't get the same euphoria that i once had. In my case, it does take less weed for me to get high but the high is not at all pleasant. I have had a panic attack almost every time i smoked it in the last month. I've also noticed deranged thoughts, loss of balance(feelings of falling) and fear of logical things that i cant put into words. It's not uncommon to have a bad trip but the paranoia I have been experiencing is of another status. I'm gonna go on detox for about a month and will happily report the results. Hope this post helps those that are feeling the same way.
  • The more frequently you smoke bud, the higher your tolerance is. However, after allowing your body to clear itself of THC, your tolerance drop back down to actually far below its original level, and a couple hits will put you on all fours munching on crumbs in the carpet. So for all you tokers frustrated by the ludacris amount you need to get your euphoric domerock, try to take 3 weeks off. It is well worth it.
