  • If he raped me and I was his Dr. he could live. Id just try to get another Dr. to help him and Id have the Police right there when he woke. But if it was my daughter hed raped He would Die. Sorry just how I feel.(Dont DR me people ok!)
  • As a doctor, you are required to provide services to all patients - even those you do not like.
  • I would try very hard to save him if her raped me but hand him over to somebody else as soon as possible. If he raped my child I would be a little less diligent.
  • I'd make it perfectly clear that another doctor should help him because I'd let him die
  • I agree with the top answer,it is the job of the doctor to save ones life, and all doctors swore to that agreement when they took the oath of being healers. They cannot choose whom they should help or not help.As a doctor one could ask another doctor to take their place.I would feel devastated if that did happen though I would not take another's life for I am not the executioner.
  • It would be a difficult situation to be in, however, healthcare professionals have a legal duty of care towards every patient regardless of the circumstances so I suppose if a healthcare professional allowed someone to die when that person could have been saved they would find themselves in trouble with the law and charged accordingly with murder/manslaughter.
  • save him and then report him or if im feeling really pissed grab my aluminum bat and meet up with him in the parking lot once he was released from our care:) now if it was my child who had been the victim i wouldn't even be able to be in the same room with him. i wouldn't hurt him but i would have to leave as soon as i realized who it was.
  • Good question. I would have a hard time in either situation. I would have to hand-off both cases (if at all possible). If not, I may get by helping the rapist (tho he would definitely be strapped to the table and waiting for the cops, when I was finished). But, if he raped my child, he better hope and pray that I wasn't in a situation where I had to help him ... (wasn't that "Mr. Doe", chemical castration, ELECTIVE surgery, in OR #1)? No? Hmmmmmm ... my bad!
  • You don't swear an oath for nothing. I'd save him.
  • In Christian theory;you and I were made by "God". The Christian God wants you to forgive your enemies. "And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us" Yet I have yet to see any reference to God forgiving his arch enemy,so if you follow logic; how will it be that "Gods" imperfect creations(WE) will be able to do something that "God" himself is unable to do ? You will do it because you want to !
  • I can afford a few DR's...Another hypothetical lame ass rape question with a mixture of child molestation added to the mix...To bad and what shame...
  • I'd save him, but I'd play a fun prank like putting a Hot Wheel in his kidney.
  • Speaking from a woman's point of view I would save his life (but he would be discharged a eunuch yo...) ;)===)
  • You take responsibility and *refer*, idiota! ;-)
  • I'd "fuck up" the operation somehow. XD Joking. As a doctor, it would be my duty to do what I can for them, and let the law deal with his crimes. It might pain or anger me to do as much, but even without all that, I'd be arrested for not doing my job and letting him die. :/
