  • I have a thought. Many computers require replacing DIMMs in pairs. Maybe the mismatched sticks are confusing it? DDR is fussy that way sometimes and Dells are odd beasts to begin with. 894MB is an odd number though. The only way I can see that adding up is if it recognized 1024 MB (1GB) of it and then used 128 MB of it for integrated video and 2GB of "overhead"; 1024 - 128 = 896. My old Athlon could handle mismatched DIMMs but only had 704MB available out of the 768MB installed. My 1GB netbook only has 1012MB instead of 1024MB for the same reason.
