Tone comes far more from the musician than the instrument or other equipment. BB King could play a Dean and still sound more blues than anyone on the planet. That said some instruments can be easier to get specific tones from than others. Eric Clapton used a Gibson SG in his early years and got a lovely tone. Les Pauls are popular with many. As are telecasters and Strats. Again though it really comes down to you and your approach.
