  • If you mean things like "daughter, you are not leaving this house wearing that thong hanging out of your pants; and put a shirt over that bra-thingy your wearing", I hope as often as any daughter wears things like that! If you mean they fight over wearing each other's clothes, I don't know. When my daughter was a teenager we wore each other's clothes, but we didn't fight about it; we thought it was funny.
  • I think it`s something like a stage they have to go thru before they can grow up.
  • Very common... I like it when she says "what is this?" with a frown.
  • Yes, it's very common. I remember back to the 70s when my parents hated my 3" wedge shoes. Looking back now I can see their point. It was like I was walking on two bricks.
  • Very common! My mom fought with me on EVERYTHING. To this day she says i do not dress for the weather. I wear long denim skirts, like to my feet and a 3/4th length shirt and shes like 'you're going to burn up! dont complain when you're burning up!' I'm 20 years old...it never ends -.-
  • Most uncommon.
  • Unusual. Sounds like they're too controlling to me. If they don't let their daughters wear what they want they won't find their own identity. Better to leave them be.
  • Never happens with my mom and my sister
  • argue might be a nicer term. no hand to hand combat. usually one parent has a problem. not both.
  • Well; I believe as long as the parents are buying the clothes ; they need to have a say about what is being purchased .... If you can't agree ; then maybe an outsider such as a teacher or aunt could talk to the mother ... Either way ; you live in her home and she is suporting you ..ya' got to do what she says ..fighting will only make the situation worse ..
