My 14 year old Whippet sweeps the floor with his paws prior to stepping on the pads of his feet. I had him on Ritalin for about a week with no improvement. What could be wrong?

What could be wrong is that you're putting your dog on Ritalin. My God, why would you do that? Is this behavior hurting the dog? Is it hurting your floor?

- Some people give their dogs Prozac because the animal spends a lot of time at home alone due to the owner working. This is based on a Vet's recommendation... Personally, I think we need less people and animals on all these mood changing drugs, and should dig a little deeper into the nature of the problem. But on a side note, there are plenty of drugs which are crossovers and are available for both humans and animals.

- I don't think people should give all their power of discernment away to a vet or a doctor for that matter. I would approach their advice as guidance but also do my own research.
