There is no way to answer this in such a general way. Some opera is entertaining while others are boring.

I love Led Zeppelin, yet I love to listen to opera also ... I paint, and depending on my mood ... the music is varied ... Yes! I find Opera to be very entertaining. Thankyou.

I hate to say it, but opera is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. My wife has tried to cure me, but without success.

Opera is like being strapped in a chair and having a cat tortured in front of your face until you break out of the chair and kill yourself with it.

Entertaining if you learn about it in depth, boring if you don't know much about it.

I feel cheated out of the joy of appreciating opera because they are all in European languages. Lyrics are very important to me in songs, and I'm sure that if I understood the story and the lyrics in the beautiful songs that were being sung by those amazing voices, I would be a fan! The truly greats use their voices like instruments. I did enjoy Madonna's opera of Evita! The reason? because I understood the story and the lyrics. And I did enjoy her singing tremendously. I wish someone would start a movement to produce more American English-speaking operas!

That's a personal opinion for everyone. I think you either love it or hate it and there is no in between!
