Do you prefer to buy American Made? Would this be a factor for you in a major purchase?

When reasonable I tend to buy American, too many things made in places like China getting recalled. "Sorry, we thought kids would like lead in their toys!" As for major purchases...I tend to buy American cars because I'm 6'8" and don't fit too well in non-American cars (though my Isuzu Trooper was fine when I had it).

American Made... What is American Made? Most things are made up of parts and most parts are made elsewhere. American Made would probably mean more Money to pay out of my pocket. The Quality would be good, but would it be hip? Could be....
