  • Actually, it would probably be best if you used a lure that simulated some kind of naturally occurring critter from your area. When I am in Northern Wisconsin fishing, I use a a crank bait that is black with white skeletal outlines on it. I can't recall what it is called... it also rattles a bit. It is light, floats except when reeling in (then it dives about 5 feet). I also like to use jigs - something with a bit of flash as the evening comes on. Not as much fun as casting, but jigging can bring out some big pier bass.
