yep I would have no problems with this at all, as it has nothing to do with how they work on the job

My hiring a person would be based on their ability to carry out the tasks for which I hire them.
The decorations and ornamentations on their faces will have nothing to do with their getting hired.

Honestly, I would think it's unprofessional but if they had the qualifications, the vocal presence, the manners and what-have-you, I'd definitely give them a shot.

  • I personally would not care. I am glad that it is becoming acceptable, not because I think that tatoos or studs are cool. Just because it should never matter. I hate that kind of mindless prejudice employers think they have a right to. On a personal note it screams bad taste to me.

Yes, if they fitted the criteria required for the role. Though I would probably not consider them for a face to face customer relation position.

Yes. If I owned a circus, I'd hired the one with the tattoo on the face. If I owned a farm, I'd hire the one with the ring on the nose, tie him up next to the oxen with a chain thru the ring and have them all plow the land together

If we were working around a large, powerful electromagnet, no. Otherwise, yes.

    Spud likes gravy with his.

Depends what i want them to work as. If it was in a grocery shop then i would have to say no, however if it was in an office etc then i would see their credentials and employ the best one for the job.

It depends on the job and how the interview went. Based solely on their appearence (which is not my first choice) if they were going to be the face of my company (working the front counter, a traveling salesman, etc.) probably not; if they were going to be working in my warehouse, who cares.

I think it depends. If the job requires the tattooed or pierced dude to interact with old ladies and folks then I would have to think it twice.
But I have a good opinion on tattooed and pierced people. Maybe because I am one.
They're usually nice, intelligent and reasonable, under the rebel surface lol.

i personally dont have a problem with that. i mean i would probably take the metal stud guy over the tattoo face guy, but i have no problems with tattoos and peircings. i like them, and now-a-days so many people have them you cant just take in their appearance, you have to take in the whole package. in my line of business i cant have that, but im hoping to not be in this line of business for the rest of my life.

I would expect my employees to have and to maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times while on the job.

It depends on the job, and the nature of the tattoo... office work etc sure, front of house in a fancy restaurant or hotel, nope. He should have thought about his future work prospects before getting the tattoo!
