I rather have a porterhouse cause you get the new york and the fillet mignon in the same cut.

Depends on the mood. New York Strip on the grill, seared and smokin', with sauteed french button mushrooms with a bit of garlic in butter, or a hunk of prime rib with fresh grated horseradish, and au jus are right up there in my list of can't live without! Since we're camping tonight, I guess the New York would be the choice. Rioja Gran Reserva, or an older vintage Cab Sauv too, please.

I don't care much for prime rib. I'd rather have a steak where the meat can have contact with a hot surface, pan or grill, on both sides and get that nice crust of flavor on the outside.
