Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a five year old Philips model 28PW5407/01. Since yesterday everytime I turn it on, the colours are all redish/purpleish and it turns itself off after 5-10 seconds. Any idea whats wrong with it and could it be repaired or should i replace it? Thanks

Replace it. It would cost half the price of a new one, maybe more, to get it repaired especially if it's the tube. A purple picture usually means the Green gun circuitry is dead or dying. It may be a component in the Green amp circuit that is dying and tripping the power supply.
