My Zune never lasts more than 3 hours straight and then the battery goes dead. I have a long trip coming up soon I will be in the airport with no computer or laptop to charge it. How can i make it last more than 3 hours?

• Yes i seen it, Thank you :) It is about 2 years old so i guess it is time for a new battery. But hell by the time i fork out the money for that i might as well buy an ipod touch

• As I said, I don't know how much a battery replacement runs in a Zune, but I *seriously* doubt it's anywhere near what Apple charges for an iPod Touch.

  Now you know why I went with a Sansa. The user-replacable battery was (to me) a strong selling point ;)

  Lithium-ion batteries tend to lose capacity with age and temperature. The number of charge/discharge cycles has less to do with that than with other forms of rechargeable batteries. Storing them partially (instead of fully) charged helps prolong their life a bit, but in general use they will usually die in 2-3 years.
  Under high temperatures (60C), they will lose as much as 80% of their capacity in 6 months!
  .
  But I digress.
  My point is that the battery has had it. I don't know how much of a hassle/expense replacing the battery is for a Zune. I hear it's about $90 to send an iPod back to Apple for that, and it's about $35-40 for the battery for my Sansa, which I can replace myself as Sansa actually allows the end-user to do that.

  At this rate, I am willing to wager that within a couple of months your Zune will be under two hours unless you replace the battery soon.
