B&B places can get away with it because it's considered more of a person luxury to stay there. Not only are they limited in the number of beds they have (some have only 1 or 2 rooms), they usually offer personal service (i.e. them fixing you the breakfast you want), the beds are a lot nicer than a standard hotel mattress (usually a couple of thousand for some of those beds), and basically the rooms are unique and very different from every other room in every other B&B. All in all, its a very customized and personal effort that goes into these rooms and, to me, it is very much worth every penny.

You're reading The price of lodging (like when on vacation) I think is outrageous. How do some B&Bs get away with charging $400 a night? When I first saw this, I thought that was the WEEKLY rate. I couldn't enjoy my vacation knowing what I was paying!
