  • I can sympathize, I recommend joining a pen pal website or even a club (I love sushi, so I'd look for a sushi fan site) and just be yourself and talk to people who you are interested in. As long as you are being yourself, like-minded people will see what you have in common and you can build friendships that way. Best of luck!!! :)
  • My daughter is 14 and shy as well. But you have an advantage since you are in school you should pay attention to the kids in class. There has to be someone who makes you a little curious. Try sitting by them or speaking to them. Sometimes a "hello" goes a long way. Eye contact and smiling also is a great way to open your self up to other people. Remember any NEW friend is just that a NEW friend. My best friend and I have been able to stay friends for almost 20 years and she has lived 3000 miles away from me for over 10 years now, but we are still tight. Good luck Wolfgirl (Jacob??? LOL)
