  • Sometimes yes or no isn't appropriate. And sometimes the question remids us of a story so we share it. If you dont want to read it dont.
  • Some don't know how to give a short answer to a particular question.
  • One-liners don't really say much and can be confusing. I appreciate longer answers for "deep thought" questions.
  • Sometimes a long answer needs to be used, but there's a limit. It's often people quoting scripture, which makes it doubly boring
  • I'm sure some people find it boring. Some people find reading books boring. The point? You don't like to read? Sounds like a personal problem to me. I like to read, but if I read part of it and discover it to be crap I just move on to the next answer/question/whatever. If it's interesting and well written then I can appreciate what they have to say usually. If you don't want to read then move along and quit complaining. ;)
  • I tend to do that & I do not find it boring. Many times I find the answers interesting and/or entertaining. Just in case you think they are boring, for your sake, I will end this one now.
  • Some of the very long answers are very useful. They also show that the person cared enough to bother learning about or researching the subject. I appreciate that people have bothered.
  • I have yet to see long answers..
  • I guess some require more explanation than others, the too long answers do 'bother' me,unless it is a topic I am really passionate about and want to understand the posters views.
  • Copy & paste effect most of the time!
  • I thought that when I first joined AB and generally long answers are unnecessary for the question as asked and often I don't read them through. However, an ABer showed me some examples of some of her long answers which revised my opinion. Her answers were well laid out with paragraph breaks which in the first place was more aesthetically pleasing and made it easier to read. Also, her answers were well written, factual and interesting and I have to admit I read every one to the end. To summarise, in answer to your question I would say "it depends".
