After a few days of digging, I found the solution. I should have mentioned, but did not because it seemed irrelevant, that I normally launch Wordpad by clicking a shortcut in my Quick Launch tray. I searched for "wordpad*" and found 4 files, one of them being Wordpad.exe. In the SEARCH window, I right-clicked it and choose "Make a shortcut." I then chose to put that shortcut on my desktop which it did. I then deleted the one in my QL tray and dragged the new one there to replace it. Then I tested it and it worked perfectly as before. Thanks!
