I think the falling description illustrates how you don't intend to do it, it just happens. If you were rising into love, to me that would mean it was more of a thing you could control.

I suppose so- But it just doesnt have that same ring- "falling in love, falling in love, falling in love" See what I mean?

sounds much more romantic and poetic to rise than to fall, doesn't it/ but I doubt we can change the idiom. :-)
