Actually, almost all breeds. When I was a kid I started watching dog shows each time they came on TV, and I kept watching them until I was probably a teenager. My friends think I'm insane when I mention Affenpinschers or Belgian Teruvians.

Quite a few, but I can give their German names only in most cases (I will start with the ones I know in English, too): Dachshund German shepherd / Alsatian Irish Setter Golden Retriever Pitbull Poodle Chihuahua Pekinese Chow Chow Scotch Terrier Weimaraner Beagle Basset Corgy Collie Bearded Collie Bulldog Greyhound Whippet and several more which I can't think of right now.

Maybe 50? I used to know more, I memorised a book of dog breeds when I was a younger, more bored child.

I would think almost all of them...too many to list. But then, I've been training dogs for over 30 years. And I've always been especially interested in "Rare Breeds" and what they are all about. Once in a while I might get caught out, but it is rare. An interesting situation is when comparing an American Bred dog or bitch to one bred in Europe! Often, there are some fairly obvious differences between the two same breeds. American Irish Setters vs. Irish bred Irish Setters is one such circumstance. The American Bred Irish Setter has become almost more of a FASHION statement in many bloodlines. Where as the Irish Bred Irish Setter is still predominately a WORKING HUNTING DOG and they LOOK like a working hunting dog...not as glamorous or sleek, more rough, robust and ready to take on the world! I'm trying to add some photos, but AB has not been working correctly for photos for me just lately....maybe they'll show up, maybe they won't. sighhhhh These are BOTH Irish Setters, (first photo is of puppies, second one adults) Guess which is the American type and which the European type? Betcha can without effort!
