Anything that gets your heart pumping is concidered cardio. Running, using the elliptical, riding a bike, dancing, speed walking.

exercise, like running swimming jump roping bike riding jogging walking anything that makes you out of breath eventually and gets your heart rate up. running is very good for cardio exercise but there is a lot of stress on the knees. biking is another good one. swimming is also really good too b/c it has no impact or stress on the body and also applies resistance to the body which will increase muscle strength over time....swimming and running are the two best exercises there are for you to be good at...thats what i was told. you want to do these exercises for about a half hour at least. over time you will be able to last longer and your resting heart rate (RHR) will be lower which is good for you...when doing cardio you want to get your heart rate in your target heart rate zone (thrz) which is 50%-85% of your resting heart rate...your thrz is where you want your HR to be when working out... i hope this helps
