Patrick moves to a new town, and every evening after work stops by the pub for three drinks all at once. On weekends he orders 3 drinks 3 times. The bartender finally asks him about it, and he explains how he and his two brothers from his old town always used to drink together, and in order to keep the connection even though they've gone their separate ways, have made a pact - wherever they are, they'll each order 3 drinks every evening, and 3 rounds on weekends. Years later, one week Patrick only orders two drinks; the bartender goes up to him and tells him how sorry he is that one of his brothers has died. "Oh, no", says Patrick, "Liam's just given up drinking for Lent!"
