There is no proof that the death penalty deters criminals from committing crimes.There is many crimes of passion,fear, hate,or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.The person commiting these crimes is not thinking about the possible death penalties.Anyway the death penalty is cruel and outmoded and has no place in modern society.
