  • A lot of variables are involved with reguards to your question. Will it have color? How many pages? Slick paper or newsprint? Artist and writer fees and where to have it printed? Shipping? So as you can see it depends on what type of comic you are going to print. I had a comic printed back in 1985 during the comic boom and it cost a pretty penny back then, this is 20 years later and everything has gone up. so if you wanted to print a standard 22 of 24 page comic with color, then you are going to have dig deep into your pocket. • Comic books, whether they are in full color or black and white, can be published dependent on the program that you registered the book with. Publishing a comic book yourself will require you to list the kinds of services that your book will need: 1. Book cover design customization 2. Interior layout consultation 3. Editing 4. Marketing After that assessment, I suggest you look for a company that offers all that in one program. Xlibris is one of those self-publishing companies that has programs designed for all picture books or black and white books. Their programs range from $299 to $12,999 dependent on your budget and book’s requirement. Book pricing then will also be dependent on the number of pages your book has. Most black and white books have a standard page count of not less than 48 pages while the colored ones require at least 24. Since self-published books are print on demand, prices per book is at $19.99 each the least. Remember, if you order in bulk, your book price will go as low as $3/book. This information is for self-publishing a book. It would be different if you go to someone else who will just publish ONE book.
