  • My Grampa "Glen Beebe" He was in the Korean War, he was a Marine, and he was awesome. He got a purple heart. He saved men, he killed men...and was a very brave man. He was shot in the hand...and the buttocks. I always kinda laughed tho, cuz it reminded me of forrest gump. But yup, he did a good job...He was a hero.
  • My cousin Joey Velez he died next to me...IUD blew up his Hummer.
  • My grandfather fought in World War 2. He was at Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He told a story at one time. He had fallen into a ditch. Another soldier reached to him and pulled him out but was immediately shot and killed. Memorial Day is set aside in remembrance of those who did not come home from the battlefield. It's in remembrance of the loss of our sons who died in battle serving our country. Many gave some, some gave all. The soldier who pulled my grandfather from the ditch that day and so many like him who didn't return to their families are the ones who should be recognized on Memorial Day. Veteran's Day is for those like myself who were so fortunate as to have the opportunity to put these wars behind us and live on.
