Why do people boast about their "sticky rice"? I am desperate to make my rice NOT sticky

Sticky rice is all I can ever do. I can't stand it only in rice pudding. I never knew there were said peeps out there that actually like sticky rice in any other waty except light and fluffy. I guess if they start a trend then people will thinks is cool to cook crap lol

I've never heard people boast about sticky rice - I've always heard about trying to avoid it.

I boast because it is NOT easy to make! It took me like 20 tries to get my sticky rice perfect for home made sushi.
