  • I don't do that as a sport, but everytime I am asked to do so, I do it. It usually involves friends or relatives in the hospital that need it.
  • would you believe i'm not allowed give blood in ireland as i lived in the UK in the late 80's
  • No, I was once diagnosed with the Epstein Barr virus and considering it's technically a chronic blood disease, I was told I could no longer donate blood.
  • no,are you?
  • No, unfortunately. I made a pretty good effort at it, but my veins are so bad that the collection center told me never to come back, I was wasting their time. One day I got stuck seven times by everyone in the place all the way up to the supervisor. No one could get a vein. That was when they decided that I needed to save my few good sites in case I needed surgery. Most people don't have that problem. There are many folks during what we are now calling "the Greatest Generation" who donated every week, all their lives. I'd love to emulate them myself, but I can't. I'm hoping that some young folks out there with better veins than mine will decide they'd like to be thought of as a great generation themselves and start showing up every week.
  • I did for a bit but then got a Tattoo so had to wait a few years. Now I think I can give again
  • No, because I'm tired of being punctured here and there to no avail. Phlebotomists are not good enough to draw my blood. Usually it takes an anesthesiologist to do it without killing me. Ok. And I had anemia awhile back.
  • No the sight of my blood and just knowing someone is sticking a needle in me to get my blood is sickening to me. I wish I wasn't such a wimp bc I really need to donate. I'm neutral blood type. That would be really helpful to people. I just get so light headed and nausiated. Plus I'm paranoid that the needle won't be sterilized or the lady won't be able to find my vein(which happens often). That doesn't feel good.
  • If plebotomists didn't act like oil drillers... Then I would be. They always hurt me so I don't go!
