  • G'day Rhymer, Thank you for your question. I am not aware of anybody doing such research as scientists believe that bowel and bladder problems are caused by other factors. It did influence the psychologist Sigmund Freud in developing the concept of anal retentiveness, however. Sigmund Freud thought that toilet training played an important part in the development of personality. Psychologists discount his theories today but the concept of anal-retentive people hangs on.
