it was foiled was it not? the idea of Obama I thought was a change in the economical situation and to try and get our troops out of the other countries...seems this terrorist has nothing to do with Obama, but instead has everything to do with trying to get people to doubt the U.S. and to strike fear...what these terrorist dont understand is, they are only pissing the American people off, and it will only delay any presence we have over seas.

If the plot was not actually carried out, but was foiled, how is this less safe??

You will get incidents like this for a long time to come. I live in the Republic of Ireland and even though The Troubles have stopped in Northern Ireland, there are still some people who want to start it again. It is not the fault of one person that you feel less safe but everyone must play their part in reporting any suspicious activity to the Police and let them deal with it. We go about our daily lives as normal and don't let a few individuals who have a warped sense of nationalism keep us from doing that.

The terrorist plot was actually foiled under Obama wasn't it? Unlike certain terrorist attacks under Bush. I suppose that means the US is "more safe" under Obama, huh? *edit I misread the question... don't think too badly of my foolishness... it is rather late...

There will be attempts for many years to come. Our best defense is not to turn back to the politics of fear mongering. What on earth has happened to Americans. We helped defeat the Nazi War Machine with 25 million men in arms. We stared down the Soviet Empire and its threat of nuclear holocaust ending all life on earth. But 245 Muslim men in Gitmo... Oh noooooo Run. Hide in caves. The end is upon us. Thatns to the good work of the FBI we dodged this bullet. Next time we may not be so lucky. But even if they strike us hard, I'm not running for a cave. I prefer we keep the terrorist living in that way.

The key word here: Foiled. A pity that 9/11 wasn't eh?

With Obama's tour of the Middle East(3 June '09), it looks as if Biden was right. In an interview, el jazzera reported that the Middle East does not fear Obama and see him more as a 'friend'. They also reported that, they see him as passive and not prone to be agressive. Unfortunately, The Middle East is full of extreamists who believe that 'making nice' is a fool game. They look upon this country a laughable and weak now.
