  • If what you describe is a real-life happening and not some hypothetical situation created for discussion purposes, then I would imagine that the apartment complex would have had (hopefully!) sufficient insurance coverage, to provide for the needs of their valued tenants. I saw something similar to what you are describing, happen in Tucson, Arizona, in 1971. In that case, the building owners found replacement housing for all of their tenants, and in "record time," too. In that incident, no one was rendered homeless.
  • If you have insurance, then they have a duty to find your suitable alternative accommodation; likewise if you are a housing association tenant they have to do the same.
  • Kick myself for not buying "Renters Insurance" as it would obviously have been smart and wise..
