What are your thoughts about keeping birds,(that are meant to be free,and FLY )in cages?

    In a way it is kind of mean when you think about it. Do they ever get to fly? It would be similar to a persons legs being tied together so they could never walk and being put in a small cage. That would be horrible, id rather die, maybe some birds would as well... poor little guys

    If the bird is looked after properly, I see no problem with it.

    There is nothing wrong with a tame parrot that has a huge cage, a good and varied diet, is let out of its cage everyday for at least a couple of hours, has play time with its owners, has heaps of toys in its cage, and is taken on outings with its owner. It was brought up with humans and is very happy to be there.

    However, a bird that lives in the spare room in the house in a tiny cage with hardly any or no toys and eats nothing but seed and its water is hardly changed and is never let out of the cage is very, very wrong and sad.

    Also, I do think it is cruel to capture a healthy, wild bird and throw it in a cage.
