I'd have to guess Harry Truman. EDIT: One of the things you learn about Truman is that he was a haberdasher, not a politician, and not of a prominant family as many of our Presidents have been. As far as childhood poverty, Clinton, Lincoln, and I think Nixon were somewhat underpriviliged.
