Why are so many people obsessed with Chinese herbalism when there are so many other countries that have a rich history of herbal use?

because we like the little chinese men who look like little Yodas & so are wise in the way of eastern herbs.

Same reason if you let 500 random people write down all the countries they can think of, no matter how much time you give them you will probably see no mention of Mauritania, Kyrgyzstan, Belize, Guinea-Bissau, etc. >_<
