Theism: Belief in the existence of a god or gods, especially belief in a personal God as creator and ruler of the world. Atheism rejects every part of that. Deism accepts the first part, the existence of a god or gods. However, deists reject the second half concerning the personal god.

Deism would actually be categorized under Theism, I believe. The difference is not in their belief in Deities, just their take on religion and philosophy. A full-fledged "religionist" might believe in divine providence, or destiny...whereas a Deist would reject such concepts. But even so, a deist and a theist could actually believe in the very same Deity.

Deism is the belief and or worship of god or gods. It is just a sub part of theism (singular god) pan-theism (multiple gods). Atheism is the belief that god or gods don't exist. That humanity is best served by believing in itself and its own ability to evolve and grow.

A theist believes in one or more creator and personal gods. A deist believes in one or more uninvolved creator gods. An atheist withholds belief in any god(s). Most atheists would think that a deistic type god more likely than the theistic type of one.
