yep; when we lived on my grandparents farm ... My cousins and I would TRy to catch chickens .... Now and then; we would succeed .

When I was a kid my grandmoter had a chicken coop. I tried to catch one but a whole flock came after and chased me away into my laughing Daddy's arms.

Sure, just last week. You have to get them into a corner and pounce. Sometimes all you can do is herd. UPDATE! I just caught 7 of them using this method. Had to move them to a new coop. Only one I couldn't catch, I couldn't corner her. I'll wait until later and use the other good technique: when they're sleeping you just pick them up quietly. I forgot to mention: you must hold their wings down so they don't flap and break a wing.

Yep..even caught (rustled) a pig years ago when me and some friends were on a 4 day drunk, strung it up with battery cables to bleed it and it feed a friends family for quite some time. Good eating! Chickens are MUCH easier to catch when they're roosting. If you're out in a field trying to catch it you have your priorities in the wrong place IMHO. ;)

being a city boy i had my first opportunity to give it a try this summer at first i almost snapped an ankle then i studied the little brat and caught him surprisingly rather easily i just didn't pick him up because iam a bit of a germ a phobe and i don't know if they bite stop laughing remember iam a city boy

I looked at your question and was like i havnt heard of the book how to catch a chicken which is pretty odd for me! So then i read the answers and i see this question actually has nothing to do with a book!! While im here i might aswell answer your question, i dont think i have ever seen a live chicken that i can think of let alone try to catch one!
