Why do people who are good friends who really care & just well meaning people give insist on giving you advice that you say will not work for you. Why do most people especially love ones feel what worked for them will work for you?

Because humans, by nature, are completely subjective. It is impossible to be completely detatched enough not to give advice without putting yourself in that others situation; or basing it on your own views, opinions, society and perspective. So as well meaning as they are, it is unlikely that they will always give you advice which is perfect for you - we are all different. Or, they may actually know better than you in some cases.

Their intentions are good, and maybe they don't believe that you understand their point of view. So they are saying it to be absorbed, and then you can think about some thoughts that will pass through when you are thinking about it.
