lol, the media gets all but 5% from the government, it makes up the other 95% but seriously, it doesn't get that much information from the government, but seriously, the freedom of information act and sunshine laws prohibit the government from disclosing information, with some expections

WTF? The media is less respectable and less reputable than the government. The media scrutinizes the government - who watches the media? "I know it's true, Oh so true, because I saw it on TV" - John Fogerty (formerly of CCR).

The media needs to get its information from all sources and not be afraid to challenge the government. In this regard, US media could learn a lot from other countries such as the UK. They don't shy away from asking tough questions.

"Mama said believe half of what you see, son, and none of what you hear." I've heard it through the grapevine that this is good advise for consuming media in the U.S.

no we cannot! I honestly can't believe anyone would think the media tells the truth or isn't biased. I mean all one has to do is look at who owns these media corporations and know that the government runs the media.

Maybe you missed the last eight years where the media was definitely not printing what the government was putting out. They had their own agenda. They still do.
