  • You start with a known mass of sulfur. From this you use the atomic weight of sulfur to determine how many mols you have. Then according to the equation that you give, for every mol of sulfur, you get 3 mols of CO2 and 1 mol of N2. So, by multiplying the number of mols of sulfur that you have by these numbers you get the number of gas particles. You can then take this number and plug it into the universal gas law with the rest of the information which you are given to determine the volume of the gas.
