  • Not hot. About 500 degrees celsius?
  • Depends, somewhere between 600 and 1400 degrees F. A darker yellow to orange flame is coolest, white is hotter, and blue (not usually found in a candle but burning gas from a bunson burner can exhibit it) is the hottest. A flame is usually hottest at the tip of the inner cone. I think this is right, been a while since my old chemistry class, heh. Same color coding applies to stars as well, just muliply the temp by 10ish (i.e. orange would be 5,000 or 6,000 instead of 500 to 600....its a rough estimate:)
