Windows Movie Maker seems pretty easy to me, followed closely by Nero Vision. Adobe premiere is unusable unless you spend a few months poring over the users manual, and a few dozen hours playing around in the GUI. Those are the only three I've used, Windows Moviemaker is free with XP, and is the most user friendly, I would definitely recommend it. Nerovision, $40-$70 bundled with various cd burning software packages from Nero, a very good investment for the entire package, but I wouldn't bother using Nero scout or Nero showtime if you have W(i)MP. Adobe premiere, don't even think about it unless you have a wad of cash burning a hole in your pocket, and plan on making a lot of movies, with very specialized video and audio formats or effects designed for a specific application. My experience is somewhat limited, I've only made two documentary films, 30 minutes each, so it would be nice to get some input from someone who has used different programs, or more experience with Adobe premiere, perhaps they could explain the specific advantages of this one to justify the cost. On a side note here, the 100Mb file size and 10 minute length limit for youtube and myspace sucks. I broke my video up into 4 pieces and compressed it a lot, but lost some quality, but here is a bit of it. The grainy picture and low bitrate has nothing to do with the editing software.
